How can I shop for jewelry?

There are several things you can do that will make you a better jewelry buyer.

Ask the following questions when they apply to you.

Ask what karat gold you are looking at.
Ask the quality of the gems and Diamonds.
Ask if they are genuine or man made stones.
Ask where the merchandise was made.
Always ask to see diamonds under 10X magnification.

If your questions are not answered its best to move along and shop elsewhere.

Don’t be afraid to shop around.

When you are looking at rings there are few things to keep in mind:

Hold the ring in your hand and feel its weight. If it feels way too light it probably is.

If the ring is two tones ask the salesperson if it is a true two tone
(2 piece, white gold and yellow gold combined),
if not the white gold will wear off quickly and the ring will look bad.

If for some reason you can’t magnify the diamonds, then look at them closely.
If they look dark, cloudy or dull then they are probably very low grade.

One of the biggest things to remember is that most sales in the jewelry business are not real.
Fake sales are when the merchant has his regular mark up after the fake sale price is reduced.

When you decide to trade up to a larger diamond because of the fake sales
you should always negotiate a cash price before you show your trade in.

Randy’s Jewelry has expert staff and never gives fake discounts.
